This course is different from other online RBT courses out there because this course has the option to take it in-person or online with the actual BCBA and RBT who is supporting and guiding you in the process of becoming an RBT. Therefore, I definitely recommend to those who is interested in pursuing a career in the field of ABA or students and even for moms looking for a career working with children. And thanks to the employment partnership that this course provided at the end because I was able to land a job immediately after completing the program with them :) so I highly recommend it!!!

Frequently Asked Questions

Is this a field I can grow in?

Yes! There are opportunities at the Bachelor's, Master's, and Doctoral level. We currently only provide the training at the RBT level.

Do I need a degree to take this course?

You need at least a high school diploma (or equivalent) to take this course.

Is there a minimum age to become an RBT?

Yes - you need to be at least 18 years old.

Do I need to pass a background check to work as an RBT?

Yes. As an RBT you will have to be able to pass a background check.

How hard is it to find a job as an RBT?

The demand out paces the supply for RBTs. Many local and many nation-wide agencies have waiting lists for clients due to the low supply of RBTs. Locally, RBTs make $13-$20/hour.

As an RBT, will I only work with children with autism?

That depends on the company you work for. RBTs can provide services to a variety of be people with differing ages, genders, and abilities. The population you work with will depend on the company you work for.

Once I am an RBT (after I do all 3 steps), do I have to work in the state that I became certified?

The certification is borderless and recognized nationally and internationally. Some states may have licensure on top of the certification. This is on a state by state basis. Florida does NOT have licensure for RBT, BCaBA, BCBA or BCBA-D.

Will the Registered Behavior Technician Training Certificate be compliant with RBT Task List (2nd Edition), as required for all RBT applications after November 2019?

https://www.bacb.com/rbt/rbt-requirements/ Yes, our course has been updated to match the RBT 2nd Edition Task List! You will be prepared to take the Competency Assessment and the BACB RBT Board exam associated with the 2nd Edition Task List list!

I have completed my 40-Hour Training Certificate program, do you provide the Competency Assessment?

The AppleTree Connection provides access to the Competency Assessment through our Exclusive Employer Partnership Program. This program is exclusive to our graduates, only, as we as confident in their training. Out Employer Partnerships administer the Competency Assessment. Many of our graduates have accessed internships and employment from out partners. If you are in need of the Competency Assessment, and would like to access our program, we encourage you invest in our 8-week program that will prepare you for success as an RBT.

How many questions are on the RBT Board Exam?

Per the BACB, The RBT Board examination is based on the RBT Task List and will consist of 75 scored items and 10 unscored pilot items. https://www.bacb.com/rbt/rbt-application/

Can I take this course from outside of FL?

Yes, the RBT Training Certificate is borderless. The Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB) is a national credentialing organization. This certification is recognized in all 50 states.

Can I complete my Competency Assessment outside of Florida?

Yes. The RBT certification and the process of getting certified (steps 1-3) are borderless. You can take your training in 1 state, do your Competency Assessment in another, and sit for your RBT Board exam in a totally different state. This is a national certificate!
