What type of services do you offer?

We offer mentorship and training rooted in behavior science for therapy professionals, parents, educators, and career seekers. 

We also offer products and services to Employer Partners that hire our RBT® candidates and schools that train educators.

Who are these courses and services for?

Our courses and services are for ANYONE who wants to help another person or groups of people live their best lives. Whether you are pursuing your RBT® or IBT® credential, a parent, an educator, or someone who was previously trained and wants to strengthen their foundational knowledge, our products and services are a MUST!

What's a RBT®?

Registered Behavior Technician® (RBT®) is an official credential under the Behavior Analyst Certification Board® (BACB®). RBTs® help people across all life spans gain independence using applied behavior analysis (ABA) therapy. RBTs® earn up to $51,000 annually (Glassdoor, 2024)

Do I receive a certificate?

Yes. After you successfully complete an RBT® 40-hour training course and pass the cumulative exam, you will receive a Certificate of Completion. This certificate is proof that you completed the required 40 hours of training and is required when you apply for RBT® certification.

Do I need a degree to take the RBT® 40-hour training program?

If you are pursuing your RBT® or IBT® credential, you need at least a high school diploma (or equivalent), But, if you are taking our courses for the knowledge, there is NO degree requirement.

Is there a minimum age to become a RBT®?

RBTs® and IBTs® must be 18. But, if you are taking the course for the knowledge, there is NO minimum age.

Do your courses come with email or call support?

The 40-Hour RBT® Self-Paced program is designed to be self-guided, so there is limited individualized support. Click here to learn more.

What is ABA?

ABA = Applied Behavior Analysis. It is the application of Behavior Analysis to improve the lives of people. Behavior Analysis is the science of learning and behavior. The applications are limitless!

Is ABA a field I can grow in?

Yes! ABA is a science and a field. There are credential opportunities at the Bachelor's, Master's, and Doctoral level and across industries. We are here to mentor you at every step.

Do I need to pass a background check to work as a RBT®?

Yes. As a RBT® you will have to be able to pass a background check. Your supervisor will confirm the validity during the Competency Assessment step. Step 2 of 3.

How hard is it to find a job as a RBT®?

The demand outpaces the supply for RBTs®. Many local and nationwide agencies have waiting lists for clients due to the low supply of RBTs. Average salary $51,000 (Glassdoor, 2024). RBTs® work in a variety of industries. The skillset gained in this course crosses industries, populations an roles. We offer employment support through a variety of our programs.

As a RBT®, will I only work with children with autism?

The science of behavior and applied behavior analysis have limitless applications. RBTs® provide services to a variety of be people with differing ages, genders, and abilities. The population of people you serve depends on the company you work for. We have Employer Partners that serve a variety of clients in a variety of settings.

Can I take the RBT® course from outside of FL?

Yes, anyone, anywhere can take this course. Your knowledge goes with you everywhere with you. If you are pursuing the RBT® Training Certificate it is borderless in the US, Canada, Australia and U.K. The Behavior Analyst Certification Board® (BACB®) is a national credentialing organization. This certification is recognized in all 50 states. The IBT credential is recognized internationally.

Where will I take the RBT® Board exam? 

Once you pass your 40-hour course (click here to choose an option), and pass your Competency Assessement, you will apply for the your RBT® Board exam with the Behavior Analyst Certification Board®. 

RBTs® are nationally recognized. This is not a state exam. You can complete your 40-hour training with AppleTree Connection from any of the 50 states in the U.S. and practice in any state once you earn this national credential!

Once I am an RBT®, do I have to work in the state that I became certified?

The RBT® certification is borderless and recognized nationally. The IBT® is recognized internationally. Some states may have licensure on top of the certification. This is on a state-by-state basis. Florida does NOT have licensure for RBT®, BCaBA®, BCBA® or BCBA-D®.

I have completed my 40-Hour Training Certificate program, do you provide the Competency Assessment?

Although AppleTree Connection doesn't provide the official competency assessment, we provide a pathway to the Competency Assessment in a variety of ways - through our Exclusive Employer Partnership Program and through our Career Pathway Program and the Beyond the 40 Hours Program. We reach out to employers on your behalf and connect you with companies that staff RBTs®.

Can I complete my Competency Assessment outside of Florida?

Yes. The RBT® certification and the process of getting certified (steps 1-3) are borderless. You can take your training in 1 state, do your Competency Assessment in another, and sit for your RBT® Board exam in a totally different state. This is a national certificate! If you would like support in finding a location to complete your competency assessment and employment check-out programs. 

What is your Exclusive Employer Partnership Program?

This program is exclusive to graduates of our RBT® training programs. You will gain access to our diverse network of Employers - each offer different things including, but not limited to: Competency Assessment. internships and employment.

Is there any job support after completing the course?

Yes, once enrolled all students have access to our Employer Partner directory which allows students to find ethical organizations to apply to. Students enrolled in the Career Pathway and the Beyond the 40 Hours Program have additional job support from industry experts. 

What is the average pass rate for the RBT exam?

Our students have achieved an average pass rate of 90.5% on the RBT exam.

What is included in the self-paced all-inclusive course?

The self-paced all-inclusive course includes the 40-hour training, a study guide, practice mock exams, access to a private Learnworlds community, and an employer directory.

How long do I have to complete the RBT course?

You must complete the course within a timeframe of no less than 5 and no more than 180 days from the start date.

Can I get a refund if i already started the course?

Unfortunately, once you’ve accessed the course or downloaded materials, refunds or credits are no longer available, even within the 7- or 14-day window.

Can I print the Guided Notes Workbook

If you enrolled in a product that includes guided notes, these are a one-time digital download ONLY. You do not have permission to print.

Is this training valid in all states?

YES, our BACB-compliant training is valid in all 50 states and internationally where RBT certification is accepted. 

Some states may have additional requirements after certification.

What happens after I complete the course?

After completing the course, you will need to complete the official Initial Competency Assessment through a qualified employer or supervisor. 

Our program includes mock competency assessment practice to help you prepare with confidence before applying for the RBT® exam through the BACB website.

What if Appletree cancels a course

Is your 40-hour training course approved by the BACB?

Yes. Our course meets the BACB's requirements for the 40-hour RBT training, based on the 2nd Edition Task List and RBT Ethics Code. 

We are aligned with the Board's requirement to update to the 3rd Edition as well

Can I complete the competency assessment with Appletree?

Finished your 40-hour RBT training?

While we don’t provide the official Competency Assessment, AppleTree Connection offers a Mock Competency Assessment through our Career Pathway Program to help you feel fully prepared for the real thing.

The official assessment must be completed by an employer with a live client, but we don’t leave you hanging.

Once you complete our program, we provide job coaching with recommendations to support you during your job search. Most organizations prefer to hire you first and then conduct the official assessment as part of onboarding.
